Mohammed Bandar releases his first Saudi music video, “Oyounak Gharam”

After a journey spanning more than 18 years of passion for music and singing, Saudi artist Mohammed Bander has released his first filmed musical work, “Oyounak Gharam”, with lyrics by the media figure and poet Abdullah Al Asouj — a release he regards as the beginning of a new chapter in his career.

Bander became known for his voice and his performances at national occasions, festivals and major celebrations — among them Eid celebrations, National Day and official openings — where he performed classics of the Saudi and Gulf songbook.

He says the time had come to step into his own production and present work carrying his own signature:

I took a long time to release something of my own, but I believe a late beginning is no less beautiful than an early one. What matters is that it carries a message and honest feeling that reaches the audience.

He also credited the Ministry of Culture, the Music Commission and the Society for Culture and Arts for supporting and enabling Saudi artists and creating the right creative environment for them, saying that Saudi and Gulf voices are capable of overcoming every obstacle to produce work that roots the identity of the Saudi song in the Arab listener’s ear.

“Oyounak Gharam” arrives as a first step towards a more mature body of work, with Bander promising his audience further releases carrying the authenticity of the Arabian Peninsula and the flavour of the classic Gulf melody.
